Biography
Born in Barcelona, Jorge Munoz-Gama is Vice-Head of the Department of Computer Science (DCC), Co-Director of the Human & Process Research Lab (HAPLAB), and Associate Professor of the School of Engineering of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). Doctor in Computation with Excellent Cum Laude Mention, International Mention and Extraordinary Mention from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), he received his Bachelor on Informatics Engineering from the same university. Author of the book ‘Conformance Checking and Diagnosis in Process Mining’ (Springer 2016), member of the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining and founding member of the Process-Oriented Data Science for Healthcare Alliance (PODS4H Alliance). Passionate about teaching, and committed with the teaching innovation research, specially in computer science. He received both the Faculty and University Teaching Excellence Awards. His research fields of interest include ‘Process Mining’ and ‘Process Oriented Data Science’, specially applied to Education, Medical Education, and Healthcare, among other areas. And he is a huge cinema enthusiast.
